What Are Skin Moles?
A skin mole is also called nevus or nevi(plural) and the term is used to describe spots or blemishes on the skin. There are several different kinds of moles, and they can be different shapes, sizes or colors and they might be flat or raised. On some people, the mole may be nearly the same color as their skin, or red, tan or even black.
As I stated earlier, most everybody has between 10-50 moles on their skin. Some moles we are born with (birthmarks) and others develop as we age. As we grow older we tend to develop more moles and they usually get bigger and darker in color. The number skin moles we get in life is part hereditary, but also has a lot to do with how much sun damage our skin takes over the years.
Most of the time moles will be nothing more than a harmless spot on our skin and can be removed in the privacy of our own home with natural and pain-free methods as described in Chris Gibson's book titled No More Moles, Warts, or Skin Tags™. I really suggest you read his information and take his advice because we know that moles can potentially develop into a form of skin cancer known as melanoma.
Many people believe that the more moles a person has, the higher chance for developing skin cancer (melanoma). Although the odds of developing melanoma is reasonably low, you can never be too careful. Fortunately, if melanoma does develop, you should be able to detect it early if you regularly inspect your mole and know what to look for. Again, I recommend Chris Gibson's advice.
